EAGLE SENDROMU TEDAVİSİ

 

Eagle sendromu sinir bozucu olabilir, konuşmayı, yemek yemeyi ve hatta kafayı çevirmeyi bile acı verici hale getirebilir.

Bununla birlikte, Eagle sendromu, tedavi arayan hastalar için yüksek oranda tedavi edilebilir bir hastalıktır.

Stiloid uzantıyı kısaltmak için yapılan cerrahi, Eagle sendromunun birincil tedavisidir. Bu işlem ağızdan veya boyundan yapılabilir.

Ağız yoluyla ameliyat bademciklerin çıkarılmasını gerektirir ve cerrahın stiloid uzantıya erişmesini zorlaştırır. Ayrıca çevredeki kan damarlarına zarar verme riski de biraz artar.

Boyundan yapılan cerrahi, stiloid uzantıya daha iyi erişim sağlar ancak bir yara izi bırakır ve bunun yanında yüzün sinirlerine de zarar verebilir.

Artık Eagle sendromunda stiloid uzantıya erişmek için kamera takılı bir endoskop ile çok daha kısa bir kesi yapılarak ve çok daha az dokuya zarar verilerek  yapılan cerrahi tercih edilmektedir.

Eagle sendromu için cerrahi olan kişilerin yaklaşık yüzde 80 ila 95'ında semptomlarda ya tamamen ya da kısmen düzelme görülmektedir.

EAGLE  SYNDROME TREATMENT

However, Eagle syndrome is a highly treatable disease for patients seeking treatment.

Surgery to shorten the styloid appendage is the primary treatment for Eagle's syndrome. This procedure can be done orally or from the neck.

Oral surgery requires removal of the tonsils and may be more difficult for the surgeon to access the styloid appendage. It also slightly increases the risk of damaging the surrounding blood vessels.

Surgery from the neck provides better access to the styloid appendage but creates a scar. It can also damage the nerves of the face.

Now, in Eagle syndrome, surgery with a much shorter incision with a camera attached endoscope and much less tissue damage is preferred to access the styloid extension.
